3. PARTNERS AND SUPPORTERS
The project “ARCHIBAB: Babylonian Archives (20th-17th centuries B.C.)” was established in January 2008 thanks to funding provided by the ANR (French National Research Agency) under the tender “corpus and research tools in social sciences and in the humanities” and renewed for four years from January 2011 under the “programme blanc 2010.” The project is directed by Dominique Charpin, Professor at Collège de France (Chair “Civilisation mésopotamienne”). The project figures into the activities of UMR 7192 of the CNRS (Near East, Caucasus: languages, archaeology and civilizations; dir. Thomas Römer), a partner of the ANR within the context of its current financial support. École pratique des Hautes Études (President Hubert Bost) acts as supervisory administrator; the premises are provided by Collège de France (Institute of the ancient Near East; dir. Thomas Römer).
